WELCOME FROM THE MAYORESS

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to come and visit our historic town where I am proud to say we have plenty to offer visitors.

The town reflects a long association with the sea dating back over the centuries and the charming buildings in its old quarter were once home to Plentzia's many seafarers.

It also boasts the very natural features that spawned this link-the river and its estuary, the harbour and the beach-which have remained almost unchanged over the years and which visitors can enjoy at any time of year.

I would also like to say that this new municipal corporation is working hard to recover Plentzia's important role in the region and in the province of Bizkaia, with that cosmopolitan spirit that characterises a town whose inhabitants have travelled to the four corners of the globe.
